Introduction to Project: Overhaul of CATERPILLAR 3512B Propulsion Engines

CONSO had the opportunity to work on two CATERPILLAR 3512B propulsion engines at the Vauban Port in Antibes. The overhaul was conducted as per the scheduled maintenance plan, with a particular focus on addressing issues identified through endoscopic analysis.

At the heart of marine propulsion systems, the CATERPILLAR 3512B engines serve as the backbone of marine operations, delivering reliable power and performance. Recognizing the critical role these engines play in maritime activities, our team embarked on a meticulous review and refurbishment process at the 6000-hour mark, aligning with proactive maintenance schedules and industry standards.

The decision to undertake this overhaul was not only a proactive measure but also a necessity driven by the findings of endoscopic assessments, which revealed areas warranting attention to ensure continued operational efficiency and longevity of the engines.

Throughout this project, our focus remained steadfast on delivering excellence in every aspect of the overhaul process, from disassembly to inspection, repair, and reassembly. Leveraging our expertise and commitment to quality, we aimed to optimize the performance and reliability of these vital propulsion systems, thereby enhancing the overall operational readiness of marine vessels relying on them.

We invite you to delve deeper into the details of this comprehensive overhaul project, as we highlight the intricacies of our methodologies, the challenges encountered, and the solutions implemented to ensure the seamless operation of the CATERPILLAR 3512B engines for years to come.
